Catriona Jackson Canberra Times restaurant reviews

2015
3 February 2015 Malaysian Chapter - "I remember as if it were yesterday the first time I ate real Malaysian food. A housemate from Singapore led me down a narrow alley, to a little joint where everyone ate with their right hand, using the fingers in a pincer action. No cutlery. I did badly with the finger stuff, but the flavours knocked my Anglo-Celtic socks off. ... Nothing every quite replaces that first starling experience of a totally new way of eating, but that doesn't stop you searching, and getting pretty excited when you get close. Malaysian Chapter in Belconnen is close, very close." Our summary HERE
3 March 2015 Soju Girl - "Soju Girl is a good place to eat, and to drink, with small plates the best option. Raw and rare fish dishes are a standout," Our summary HERE
24 March 2015 Bistro Nguyen's - "Despite some inconsistency there were high points here: staff were friendly, if a little overwhelmed, some of the food was terrific, some just okay. If they can iron out these issued Bistro Nguyen's could well become a reliable lunchtime haunt and a decent spot for a quick dinner." Our summary HERE
2 May 2015 Pod Food -"Pod Food is a lovely place for an intimate, classy dinner, with courtesy, respect for the food and diner, in abundance." Our summary HERE
16 September 2015 Provini - "Provini is part of a mini-groundswell of good, authentic Italian, at a range of prices, that is a godsend for Canberra. But it is also something more. It is part of a democratisation of Canberra eating, where good food and service is available at all hours to pretty much everyone. Long may it thrive." Our summary HERE
14 October 2015 Rockin Ribs - "This place should be full to bursting every night. It delivers the kind of skill and authenticity that is not always present in joints that might have bigger PR budgets, but none of the heart that Rockin Ribs has by the full rack." Our summary HERE

25 November 2014 eightysix - "The team deliver great food, with attitude and excitement, and long may they continue to do so." Our summary HERE
